It’s hard dating in Manhattan, no wait - it's Fuckin Hard! With that said you definitely do not want to look like a cheap ass on your first date, you want to save that for the fourth or fifth date after you “ get to know him/her.” But no need to worry, I have some suggestions for all you single cheapasses, Dinning Room Management Group Inc. (DRMGI) located on Mott Street @ Canal, NY, is perfect. This fairly new Chinese restaurant is brightly lighted with a HUGE chandelier, the décor is trendy and ikea-est. Unlike a lot of eateries in Chinatown you need not to worry about the roaches and the broken plates that maybe older then you.
RANTS & RAVES:
I really enjoyed the wonton noodle soup ($3.50) last time I was there and Kenneth’s favorite is the Cantonese #1 chicken. Both are very flavorful and simple. Once in a while I have cravings for western influenced dishes like general Tsao’s chicken, DRMGI does a bang up job on them and it is very cheap, $5-6. Most will charge $9-12 do to the high demand from tourist and westerners. Another once in a blue moon dish we order, is the jumbo shrimp w/ walnut that have massive dollops of mayonnaise also killer. The Jumbo Shrimp comes with a jumbo price but worth not looking like a cheapAss on the first date. Tip: If Dinning Room Management Group Inc. doesn’t work, then they are not worth it, you probably not get laid anyways…. I mean get to know them.
