With a name like "Big Booty Baking Co." how can you go wrong? I slipped into the bakery on a rainy morning looking for a little snack and found a bevy of homemade treats beckoning to me. The hard part was deciding what to get, but I landed on a cheese roll and a dulce de leche Booty Bun (a signature treat) and figured if all went well I would come back for the corn cakes, flan, a cheese sandwich, and the chunky, gorgeous cookies. There's a small seating area in back, and might I recommend sitting on one of the very cute leopard print stools whilst you cram baked goods in your mouth?

RANTS & RAVES:

I'm all about the Booty Bun. It's a sugar-covered dome of dough filled with dulce de leche (you can also choose Nutella, strawberry-cream cheese, apple-cinnamon, and guava). It's yeasty and tender but a little bit springy, not too sweet, and get this: only a buck twenty-five! And I paid only $1.75 for the hearty cheese roll which I loved for its salty crust and moist, toothsome interior. Both of the pastries and a cup of coffee ran me about $4.50, and I wasn't hungry again for a good while. Everything in the pastry case was less than $2.00, but if you feel like spending more cash, there's flan, tres leches cake, and bread pudding for $3-$4. Plus they're really nice. Plus they have a great logo. Plus I can't wait to try the every flavor of Booty Bun.
