Hailed as one of the best Polish restaurant in Manhattan, Polonia serves up some real ginormous plates of greasy hungover remedy. After the new remodeling the wall are painted all lime green, I guess visually it helps to digest the heavy hearty food they served? We placed our order and surprisingly the first that come is the dessert- Cheese and Blueberry Blintz ($4.95 each or 2pcs for $6.95). The 6”X4” Blintz is a thin pancake wrapped with great cottage cheese and fresh blueberries and covered with cinnamon powdered sugar. You know this dish will get you fat in two bites and surprisingly the taste is very light. The dish is perfectly executed end up being our favorite of the meal. The Combination Platter ($9.25) is probably the best way to sample all the Polish goodies- Bigos, Kielbasa, Stuffed Cabbage & 4 Pierogis overflowing a big ass plate. The big thick juicy Kielbasa is perfectly cook. For the Pierogis we picked four different one- Potato, Cheese, Sauerkraut Mushroom and Meat and have them fried. (you can choose to have them boiled too) The Gołąbki Stuffed Cabbage is so rich in flavor even eating that alone can stuffed you up like a gavage duck. We also got the Lamb Stew ($7.50)- a big soup with chunks of lamb, cabbage, carrot, corn, peas and potato. The soup is really hearty. Three of us come with a prepared starving stomach, we only order two entrees and a dessert and still all three of us got instant food coma.

TIPS: - For vegetarian they also have a Polish Vegetarian Combo Plate ($9.25) that contains Blintz, 2pc Potato Pancakes and 4 Pierogis. - The food is very heavy and hearty so you gotta get one of the Polish beer to wash it down. We all got the 0.5 Liter (a bit more than 1 pint) Polish beer we have never heard of before that costs $3.25 each.
