Milanes Spanish Restaurant Inc. servers variations of Hispanic food, ranging from cubnos to Dominican breakfasts. I came across it one day on my lunch break, trying to find a new place with a flare but for some reason I was pulled into Milanes. From the outside it looks like any old deli, I had no idea what I was in for, but I knew this was going to be good.
RANTS & RAVES:
Once you walk inside, it transforms into a little piece of heaven, I felt like I stepped into a whole another world, where all the beautiful, and curvy, women want to feed you and nurture you. I didn’t hear a lick of English most patrons where Spanish speaking who looked very comfortable enjoying their meal. I sat at the booth and soaked in the atmosphere, which made me forget about work. A cubano takes about 10 mintues to make, just the right amount of time for you to forget about the workload coming ahead. Took the nice hot sandwich and headed back to work, on the way back my mouth was watering from all the smells of the ham, pulled pork and dressings. Once I got back, took a bite of the cubano - "mmmmmm". The beard had a nice crunch with a soft middle, the ham and pulled pork was not too salty and very tender. IT was enough to take me back to my little piece of heaven, all I needed now was a nice cold beer to wash it down. HappY Hour here I come! Cuban Sandwich or Cubano is $6.oo Tip: when ordering To Go some dishes cost more, so dine in instead.
