REVIEWS:
It’s been ages since I’ve been to a good Italian place, I try not to go to Little Italy ironically because it is very hard to find a decent place and anywhere else in Manhattan is pretty over priced. Fortunately I found a great spot for those on the go and for those looking for a nice romantic scene. Lamarca Café and Take Out is located on 161 E 22St (corner 3rd Ave) New York, 10010, surprising, hip, young, and trendy this spot is perfect for those on a tight budget. I went to the Take Out section where one can order to go or to eat in, having the option of homemade soups, salads, pastas, sandwiches as well as specialty foods. I ordered the Pint of Auror which is made of tomato cream sauce with vodka topped with smoked mozzarella with gemelli pasta (meaning Gemini ) for $4.75 –cheap to take away, to eat in a bowl is $5.75. I took my cheap little ass to a park near by and took a bite, just couldn’t wait to take it back to work. All the components of the smoked mozzarella with the tomato cream sauce was bella, and the twin pastas were silky like texture.
RANTS & RAVES:
Next time I’ll I have to have a cheapass date night with hot strapping Italian, in the restaurant section. Tip: Take Out a little bit cheap then eating at the cafeteria-style store, Tip: In the Specialty section you can buy cheese, bread, olives and meats, perfect for picnic in the park.
