REVIEWS:
New Yorkers still have some days of summer left so enjoy it while it last! Hanging out at Shake Shack is a great way to spend a whole afternoon reading a book, drinking some wine or eating good old fashion hamburger. When I arrived noticed I wasn’t the only one taking advantage of what days we have left of summer. The wait was about 45mintues but I didn’t mind so much, the weather was beautiful and I got the chance to people watch while waiting. Finally arrived at the ordering station and got myself a hamburger ($3.50) with fries ($2.50), got another 10 minutes of waiting for the food to be cooked – shit. When I finally did get my burger, it was great, had nothing but bun, meat, bun I added some catsup, mustard and mayo and it was just right. The meat looks dry but it was very juicy and meaty and the bun was not soggy at all, could have used some cheese but it was very tasty w/out. The fries was very good as well, unexpected, when I first saw them they reminded me of cafeteria fries, the ones cut with ridges. The fries were very crispy w/ a hint of spicy salt unlike those soggy tasteless Junior High school foods I remember.
RANTS & RAVES:
Some of tips for you newbies, there are 2 lines, one for hot food i.e. hamburger, hotdogs and fries, and another line for cones, beers, and shakes. Also would recommend coming right before lunchtime like around 11am or after lunchtime around 2pm. And lastly this stand is seasonal, when old man winter comes a creaking this shack is closed.
