In my neighborhood, you are either middle eastern, carribean, or some asshole who just moved in. I try to balance the guilt of being the third by ignoring the pretentious new tapas bar and instead patronizing the delicious hybrid deli-grill restaurant-thing on the corner. You can get not only great falafel-joint fare including schwarma (pictured - its perfect, just slightly crispy) and middle eastern pastry items, but also awesome carribean, served by the friendliest peoples.
RANTS & RAVES:
Schwarma plate 8 bucks or get it in a pita and its like $3.50 or something totally ridiculous! Wash it down with coconut water. Be very full and happy and then go back to your laptop at the hipster coffee bar that just opened.
