Despite all the good reviews on GO GO Curry I really didn’t expect too much, I grew up eating Japanese curry made by my mom (the cube ones in a box), which I remember it being filling and good, yet nothing extraordinary- sorry mom. However I knew GO GO to b a good cheap eats so I gave it a try and I am happy to say I was wrong, GO GO Curry is very delicious and not like the way my mommy used to make (again sorry mom). I got the Katsu (pork) with curry walk (that is a small) for $7, a huge plate rice sliced Katsu and abundance of curry. Got to give it up for the GO GO Curry for making the Katsu crisp while maintaining the flavor and the juice of the pork, the pork really makes a difference adding a nice texture of crunchy crispy bite with the velvety smooth curry. The Curry it self was nice thick and mildly spicy, I like mine with a little kick of Sylvia’s hot sauce.
RANTS & RAVES:
The restaurant has a fun vibe, owned by Mr. Miyamori a huge fanatic of Hideki Matsui, so you see lots of baseball memorabilia’s also enjoyed the 27-7 GO GO Curry TV. I had no idea what they were saying still entertaining nonetheless. One last think for the REAL cheapasses out there, you can order #1 walk for $5 it only has curry and rice w/side of shredded cabbage.
