Bo Ky serves some great CheapAss Vietnamese/ Teo Chew noodle soup dishes, there are over 30 items on the menu. My favorite is the Hu Tieu Bo Kho $4.75 (Beef Belly Flat Noodle Soup), which contains melt in your mouth Beef Belly stews in a strong dark brown Tomato, Star Anise and Lemongrass broth with a hint of 5 spices flavor. The big chunks of carrot soaked up all the flavor of the broth and are super soft. The best is the addition of carmelized onions in the broth, which make it a bit sweet and syrupy. Hmmm, my mouth is watering now. The Hu Tieu Nam $4.75 (Cambodia Rice Noodle) is another hit. The broth is very clear with a strong honest pork bones flavor, enhanced by the Chinese preserved vegetables. The ingredients- pork, pork livers, fishball, all beautifully harmonizes each other that makes it almost a perfect noodle soup. My only complaint is the bowl is kinda small. The Country Style Duck ($4.50 / quarter) here is not as meaty and fatty as the Chao Chow Restaurant on Mott street (http://www.cheapassfood.com/eats/show/43) which I personally preferred. Also try the Bo Ky Tom Cuon Chien $6 (House Special Shrimp Roll), a plate of deep fried Shrimp Tofu thingy, a Teo Chew specialties.

RANTS & RAVES:

One of the best broths I have in NYC The bowls they use are kinda small (similar to Asia), which means the noodle soup are not big in portion. To make sure you got the softest beef stew go there at night. I try sometime at lunch it can be a bit chewy. For non-noodle eaters they also serve the beef stew with the French baguette.
