REVIEWS:
There is a resurgence going on in Chinatown last time I checked a little pizza joint named Mosco opened its doors to the public about half year ago. And now a new place call Baby-O pizzeria is opening pretty soon as well, can this be the start of the Mafioso taking back its turf? Wanting to see if Mosco was up to Chinatowns standard we gave it a go, here is what we found. Ordered a big pie at Mosco Pizza for a night at home for some dvd and slice, it’s a crappy rainy day and nothing beats eating in while stuffing your face with a pie with a good movie. A 12” medium pie goes for $10 and a 18” large pie goes for only $14, additional toppings are $1 each – real cheap. The last time I paid so little for a pie was in Cali at Pizza Pizza (chain), we decide on 3 toppings, onions, pepperoni and pineapple. Thought that would be the most diplomatic of the toppings to please the 2 of us, a little spicy a little sweet and a whole lot of pie. Any pizza eaten hot is good pizza, however after the 1st slice, I was disappointed, did not match up with my high expectations, the cheese was good, the toppings generic and the dough was so chewy my jaw was giving out on me. The dough as most pizza lovers know is what makes the pie a pie, and Mosco did not have what it takes to make it to the big leagues. It was not thin crust more of a dense and rubbery consistency with little flavor. Over all I have to say the pizza got the job done, it is close to where I live and it was filling but not really good pie place. Sorry boys I think we going to have to do a little better then that take back C-town from me. Next time we’ll have to try Baby-O, I think they have a coal oven, excited about that, plus I walked by and saw some old school Italian looking dudes which makes me think...yummy. Stay toned for the results.
