There is now a 8,000-story condo across the street. A cheeseburger around the corner is $14. Yet this Dumbo hole-in-the wall has managed to live, and still looks the same as it did before 18 different chichi furniture stores opened down the street... The food has always been hit-or-miss, but CHEAP. And thats the way the few musicians and artists left in DUMBO like it. Rice and beans, burritos, steak, nachos, are all nice and filling and just a few bucks. I really enjoy the fried green plantains.
RANTS & RAVES:
Duck when you enter! I've hit my head on the door many times descending into this basement. It also features a bar with insanely low priced everything so if you are drinking at 4 PM... They removed the distinctive hipster mural, but fortunately the circa-1982 fast food furniture outside remains. Perfect for a couple coronas at 4 PM on a Tuesday after rehearsal. Yay Pedro's!
