I don’t know why some people call this place cheap ass. We got fooled to come in here and realize this place is mid-price to upper-mid price. So I have been debating myself if I should write about this place but end up thinking, hey I spend $30 but not full yet so I gotta let people know. Kuma Inn in Lower East Side specializes in Asian Tapas. Since the chef is half Filipino and Half Thai the food here reflects those cultural traits plus other pan-Asian influences. They are BYOB. We got their signature dish Tuna Tartare with a Rice Noodle Crisp ($10.00), taste pretty good with nice cucumber to refresh the palette. The Grilled London Broil Bistek Tagalog ($8.50) is ok, the sauce is intensely salty and very “citrusy”. The Sauteed Tofu, Thai Basil and Wood Ears In Spicy Soy Mirin ($8.00) doesn’t worth the price. Sorry. Both me and Young feel that any recreational chefs can bust this dish out.

BYOB is great! It’s tapas, the dish is small so Don’t come here for dinner. You won’t get full unless you spend over $30 per person. I guess girls dig this type of small bites. NOT CHEAP ASS!
