REVIEWS:
“…Muy Recomendable…” says El Diario/ La Prensa and CheapAssfood.com La Tina’s is more then recommendable! This little to-go counter is located around a neighborhood with not so much good eats. I was working around Murray Hill/ Gramercy Park (more toward FDR), where one would have to look for days to find some affordable yet appetizing dinning and came across La Tina’s. I was pleasantly surprised by the wide selection of Latino/Hispanic Food, some of the items on the menu are Empanadas ( beef, chicken, shrimp and cheese) $2, Noachose $5.95, Fried Platanos, Cubano Sandwich $6.95), taco and the list goes on and on. Looking for something light yet filling, decided to go for the steak tacos, each order comes in 3s for $6.95 add sides of rice and beans for only $1.50. I didn’t read the fine print, and went w/out. All I have to say is – Damn this is some good shit. The taco came with very yellow soft corn tortillas; in it were nicely marinated big chunks of steak with lettuce, cheddar and jack cheese and tomatoes. It was simple. The tortillas were not warmed with grease so it felt healthier then the usual greasy taco stand and the meat were tender cooked for hours in yummy Mexican herbs and spices but I could really taste the meat.
RANTS & RAVES:
Over all really enjoyed the tacos and want to go back for the grande burritos and empanadas. Also they have lunch specials combos from 11am-3pm for only $6.95, nine different combos to choose from, wish I knew that before ordering.
