REVIEWS:
This is George. George used to run fancy hotels, but one day he decided to give it all up and start making the best muffins in the whole wide world. He's probably asleep right now because he has to get up at 1 AM to start baking. These muffins are so awesome, and you might have secretly already had them if you go to one of the couple lucky coffee shops around Brooklyn where they carry them. For example, the Dumbo General Store. But if you want them warm and less than 10 minutes from the oven, you have to come to 5th ave. The secret is delicious and unexpected combinations, that sound scary until you understand the system: muffin base - regular, bran, carrot, zucchini (!), or pumpkin. chunks of yum - chocolate, strawberries, walnuts, apple, etc then baked perfectly and given a sugary crust, using magic.
RANTS & RAVES:
My favorites: Zucchini strawberry chocolate chip, pumpkin apple walnut. Also amazing: 2 kinds of puff pastries - ham and swiss or spinach goat cheese, are super awesome. Sometimes there are soups and sandwiches. They also have their own coffee beans and make "double strength" iced coffee, which gives me the good kind of shakes all day. Also cheap! And so good. They are friendly and know everyone in the neighborhood, too. Yay George!
