REVIEWS:
Since my last visit to Queens I was at the foodie hot spot Sripraphai in Woodside, it was fantastic to say the least but it also left me hungry for more. Manhattan is so predictable with the greasy pad Thai and uninspiring Tom Yum Goong, no I was in the mood for hot, sour, sweet elements that Thai food known for. From one glimpse Chao Thai is nothing special, a 25 seater with cute little holiday themed decorations, but once inside the deep aroma of hot Thai chilies and fresh herbs is enough to make ones mouth water. For starters I got the Fried spring roll which is made of mixed vegetables, bean thread and chicken served with sweet and sour sauce, definitely a must, the skin is more like a batter deep fried, looks more like art then food. It went well with the sweet and sour sauce. As for the entrée Roasted Pork with Gravy over Rice, I got three different types of pork one roasted, one deep fried, and the other in a Chinese sausage form. The gravy was a bit too sweet for my taste but pork cooked every which way was scrumptious. I would also highly recommend Som Tum a shredded green papaya mixed with long bean, tomato, roasted peanut w/ dried shrimp and the Crispy Pork w/ Chinese broccoli over rice. I had these entrees the last visit and it was killer the deep fried pork is enough to give you a heart attack but I am a huge fan of the pork. It’s my friend.
