REVIEWS:
Last night a whole group (9 of us) went to Pho Tu Do and warm our hearts with their big bowl of pho. I will skip the reviews of the normal items- Summer roll ($3.50), Pho Tai ($4.75) and Cha Gio (8 rolls for $7) and instead focus on the stuff we have not tried here before. The #61 Bun Rieu Cua (Crab Meat with Rice Vermicelli in Shrimp Paste soup $5.75) is more on the tomato-y side than the shrimp paste side. The #126 Com Chien Tu Do (House Special Fried Rice $6.25) contains almost everything you can imagine- pork, shrimp, sausage and a gigantic egg on top of the dome shaped rice. Our favorite new discovery is #34 Banh Cuon (Steamed Rice Crepe $5.75) that contains open-faced steamed rice crepes with pork, ham and herbs. The taste is super!
RANTS & RAVES:
I personally like my pho soup to be super piping hot but this place is at the most warm/ hot. They also have different family style dinner set. For $36.95 you got 5 dishes- Spicy and Sour Soup with shrimp or fish, Spacy sauce w. fish or shrimp, Garden vegetables with oyster sauce, BBQ pork and Grilled chicken w. lemongrass and chili. We try it before and it is super yummy! Enough to serve 4+ for sure.
