REVIEWS:
I know this place is called Tkettle but I did not come for the tea, dumplings were what I was after. I recently read on the VillageVoice food blog (www. blogs.villagevoice.com/food) saying how wonderful their dumplings were, so I made a little trek to Saint Marks, between 2nd and 3rd and got my self an order of 4 pieces house dumplings for $3.75. The location is quite nice and mellow and very trendy from the dumpling houses I frequent (which is a nice change), once my order was put in it took a few minutes before my order was ready. The little gem came in 4, all piping hot from their steam bath along with my dumplings came one soya sauce & vinegar sauce and sriracha. To say the least it was damn good! I think it was worth the $3.75 however not so filling I wanted more of the rich and juicy pork and veggie filled dumpling.
RANTS & RAVES:
If your on a tight budget I would recommend any of the dumpling places in Chinatown but then again if your near Saint Marks give them a try, it’s worth the $3.75 plus they have a great atmosphere and the service is good. TKettle is temporarily offering Shanghai-style soup dumplings, an order of 4 is $3.75 and they're damn good. Oh yeah they have bubble tea and shit but who cares it's all about the dumplings.
