REVIEWS:
Hells yes this is an old bar, the establishment opened during 1892, it survived the days of prohibition haling it self a true New York classic. Most nights the crowds is a mix from all generations and socioeconomics who go for the thoughtful conversations that goes with their pint. The beautiful mahogany bar is very inviting but I prefer the booths parallel to it, it is just as inviting while intimate. Waiting for our Anchor Steam Christmas Ale, we took a gander at the menu ordered some snacks to go with our pint. They offer great burgers, but one in particular struck me more so then the others, bison burger with a side of fries (around $10) and small order of fried calamari (about $7sm, $10Lg). The Bison burger was amazing, it was not as fatty as some beef get and the flavor of the bison was pure, and juicy (not greasy) and the fries were ok, nothing to rave about. Calamari on the other hand was yummy, and the cocktail sauce that accompanied it was great had a hint of horseradish, it added a nice kick.
