The Hip-Hop Mogul Russell Simmons is a fan of the Hurried Curry in Curry Hill. The self-proclaimed vegan has been going to this eatery for fifteen years plus. If you’re ready to throw down some cheapass cash for Indian food this is the place to do it. For less then 16 bucks Kenneth and I ate like piggies (don’t worry there is no pork on the menu). A meat platter (typically -lamb, chicken, and beef) with vegetarian side, rice, naan, and all you can eat salad bar will fetch you $8.99, also on the bill of fare a choice of a la carte of chicken curry was $5.50. It’s no fancy dining but you get what you paid for, the food is great, filling, tasty but if you’re a true foodie at heart here is the lowdown. The curry was a bit watery, not spicy at all, and some of the dishes came out lukewarm, but on the bright side they have seating on the second floor where one can order specialty dishes not on the ready/togo stations.

RANTS & RAVES:

Me I am too cheap to have table service, I recommend grabbing your own food and take it to the second floor it’s basically the same deal but you have to get your own knife and spork. But don’t be too cheap, at least leave a couple of bucks for the dudes bussing all your plates at the end of your meal. “Other restaurants may be fancier, but they don’t have as much heart.
