REVIEWS:
Just when I thought I have eaten all the falafels in this city I stumble into Maoz, a great little shop located around Gramercy-Flatiron. There is no way you can go wrong with falafel sandwich, Belgian fries and a soda for $6.95 – that would be the #2. A heavenly combo if you ask me but if your feeling a little bit healthier for the New Year, Maoz also provide a salad meal. The way it works is easy you pick a meal in my case a “jr” falafel sandwich with fires, after you get your sandwich, pick form the large selection of self-serve toppings - pickles, cucumber salad, roasted cauliflower, dairy and vegan coleslaws, carrots, baby eggplants dyed pink, olives, and quite a few fresh hot sauces. The only downside to this deal is the pita is quite small and jammed packed with falafel balls. One is doomed to just stack all the condiments on top, a tricky balancing act indeed.
