On a Hot summer day like today it’s nice to walk and explore your Hood, I live in C town AKA Chinatown that is adjacent to Lower Eastside. There are many good finds as well as eats (let me rephrase) Cheap eats in Lower Eastside. But the cheapest I found today was, shaved ice. The little old man is usually there hacking away with a small ice shaver. Flavors range from but not limited to (depending on the day) mango, lime, tamarind, strawberry, and coconut. For one whole dollar you can get a nice "cool you down" for 5 min and for two dollars something that might last you a bit longer. Flavors are so good and so refreshing I was sad that I only got the one-dollar worth :( What can I say I m a cheapass.

RANTS & RAVES:

Tips: - do splurge for the 2 dollars it way worth it and your supporting an old dude that works his ass off. - the iceman moves from one locations to the next, but is usually around the Clinton/Delaney/Orchard area. - I found that coconut goes with all the flavors.
