REVIEWS:
I treated my sweetheart for the unmentionable hallmark card day; I thought I give the man a treat instead of the other way around. Seems guys have it pretty bad when this day comes around, so I did a little research and found a great little Peruvian place specializing in seafood. Lima’s Taste Ceviche Bar is tucked away in the quieter side of West Village, seats about 40-50 max with very low light, which for nice for the occasion. For starters we got the mixo ceviche $17, a great mix of fish, shrimp, squid, baby octopus, & mussels marinated in lemon and limejuice. A great way to open up the palate for our dinner, keeping in theme with the meal Kenneth got the paella made with shrimp, scallops, squid, baby octopus, chicken & sausage$26 and I got the lamb stew hearty helpings of lamb with assorted vegetables & rice$17. The paella was perfectly cooked, the rice al dente and the seafood cooked flawlessly, the lamb on the other hand was overly dry, even with the sauce and a bit on the bland side. Definitely stick with the seafood and skip the lamb, and try the Peruvian beer Crystal it light yet full bodied ($5.50)
RANTS & RAVES:
We took some pictures from Lima's but came out too dark, so we pirated them from the website. To see more images and for more info check out their site http://www.limastaste.com/
