REVIEWS:
Barbecue is some thing that is usually associated with comfort food, back door grilling and hot summer days. Blue Smoke located on on 116 E. 27th, takes a different spin to it, with their skylit dining room and noteworthy jazz club downstairs, they take barbeque to an elevated level with out the high prices. With pit master Kenny Callaghan heading the kitchen one will get a true taste of Missouri-style cues. The Salt-and-pepper beef ribs are recommended if you like to gnaw on the bone, true it may not be the juiciest of the ribs but the fat is not missing. The secret is in the heat of the pepper, has a kick in every bite. But if your more of a traditionalist go with the Memphis Baby Back Ribs lean, half 14.95, full 22.95. It’s fall apart-tastic with all the fat running down your fingers. Personally I don’t think starters are necessary but do try the Hush Puppies with jalapeño marmalade for only $3.50, that will definitely keep your tummy quiet till the cows come home, to your belly that is.
